Hello From Michelle

Hello, and Happy New Year to all clarinetists in the Clarinet Mentors Community. I am celebrating with friends and family at a cozy ski resort which just had piles of fresh snow fall overnight. After a bunch of holiday concerts, including many performances of the Nutcracker (which I love to play), it is nice to be on holidays.

At this time of year, many people create New Year's resolutions. I have some personal clarinet ones, as well as Clarinet Mentors' ones. With that in mind, I have created a new private community, just for Clarinet Mentors members to join (at no charge), to support each other in their clarinet goals. See details below.

I am going to launch a special New Year's Clarinet Accelerator aimed specifically at beginning clarinetists, or clarinets who are returning after a long absence, to really help you improve with the best habits in 2020. See details below.

I have included a link to fun video from Nicolas Balderyou. If you have not discovered his Youtube channel, you are in for a real treat. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for being in my community, and I wish you and yours all of the best in the coming New Year!

Michelle

Clarinet New Year's Resolutions - Here's your tool to make them succeed!

The vibrant community in our Clarinet Monthly Live Trainings membership has created a special membership area where they post and share their Clarinet New Years' Resolutions. As I see how committed they are to supporting each other, and even creating their own personal goals, it occurred to me that we should have one for the Clarinet Mentors Community at large. Thanks to Melissa and Marilyn in that community who inspired this for all of us here!

With that in mind, I have created a similar community for any of you to join, and declare your clarinet goals for 2020, while supporting each other to reach them. This is similar to a Facebook community, but it is private (no random ads, no social media presence). I invite you to join this community where you can post your own Clarinet Resolutions, as well as share (and discover) helpful clarinet resources. I may just offer some kind of special bonus live trainings to members of this group just to help kickstart the community here, so I encourage you to join.

You can join at no charge here: https://www.clarinetmastery.com/offers/338VkGfu. I believe there is power in simply figuring out what you want to accomplish in the next year. I hope to see you within the community.

FREE TRAINING

5 Pointers For Better Clarinet High Notes

This month's training comes out the "best of Clarinet Mentors" vault. You may have seen it when I first recorded it a couple of years ago, but it is worth reviewing now since you are at a different stage of your clarinet development. I think it is a helpful video, full of useful tips to help you start off 2020 sounding better on your clarinet.

Beginning and Newly-Returned Clarinets Only - 2020 Clarinet Accelerator

I know that many of you in the Clarinet Mentors community are very new to the clarinet, or have only recently returned to playing after many years away. One of my New Year's resolutions is to find even better ways to support people in playing clarinet more easily, more quickly.

With that in mind, I have an idea for a new 6-month program that would feature some great training for inexperienced clarinetists in a small group setting that combines some great self-study courses with weekly live sessions with me. I can't think of a better way for me to help support beginning players to improve radically within a 6 month period than this. If you are at this level of playing, and are interested in this program, please find more details here: https://www.clarinetmastery.com/beginners-clarinet-program-application

Nicolas Baldeyrou Carmen Fantasy

Every time Nicolas Baldeyrou puts out a new clarinet video, I am inspired and entertained. He is a fantastic player, but also creates phenomenal multi-track videos of himself playing several clarinet (and often other instruments) parts together.

Enjoy this fun video here: https://youtu.be/Ay13eQPc5L8

FURTHER CLARINET TRAININGS

Did you know that Michelle Anderson of Clarinet Mentors has created several step-by-step courses to help you play the clarinet better? Do you want to improve your tone, or move your fingers faster, or play high notes better? Check out all of the courses (which all have free samples for you to learn from) by going to:  https://www.clarinetmastery.com

If a friend forwarded this to you, I hope you'll become part of my clarinet community! Feel free to email if you have questions, comments or things you would like to see in future newsletters. I hope that you enjoy great music with your clarinet playing this week.
