In this issue:
Hello to all clarinetists in the Clarinet Mentors Community! Whew! I've had such a whirlwind spring that I have neglected to create a newsletter for some time. I thought that I would pack a few months worth of value into this newsletter by creating the Clarinet Mentors Gear Guide. See details below on how you can access this.
I've been performing almost non-stop including several shows with the Vancouver Opera Festival. I've also been putting the finishing touches on my newest course The Easy Rhythm Method, which as you may guess, has my best pointers on creating and maintaining a good sense of rhythm and improving sight-reading.
I am also SO EXCITED about the Clarinet Celebration in Portland in June (see details below). This will truly be one of the most inspirational clarinet events that I have ever attended. I hope you can join us. If I were a guzillionaire, I'd buy all of you plane tickets and passes to this event. I think it is going to be amazing, and i really hope you'll consider joining us.
Thanks for being in my community!
Michelle
The Clarinet Mentors Gear Guide
I've had many emails in the past couple of months from people with questions about what gear to get next. They include:
Many of us have a feeling that there may be better gear out there that will improve our playing, but we don't know what to get. The Clarinet Mentors Gear Guide is like a mini-course in what you need to know to spend wisely and choose gear that can really help you. Most of this content is previously released, but is now curated into one easy-to-use resource for you.
I will be adding new resources to this mini course, so once you have access to it, you'll be notified when new content is added. I think this will help you to figure out what gear you may want to try next.

Live Clarinet Event - June 25 - 30, 2019, Portland Oregon USA
This is HUGE news for all of us in the Clarinet Mentors Community! David Shifrin, one of my childhood "Clarinet Heroes", is organizing an incredible festival of clarinet concerts, a youth competition, masterclasses, gear tryout rooms, many clarinet sessions with great artists and more! The best part for us, is that he has invited the Clarinet Mentors Community (that's you and me) to come and create a meaningful set of activities for amateur adult clarinetists. This will include access to all of the stellar concerts and recitals, a chance to participate in masterclasses with myself and some of these great artists in our own, safe, amateurs-only space, daily clarinet choir sessions where you get to play with like-minded clarinetists, special interactive clarinet technic classes where you will learn new skills, and so much more. Not only will you learn a lot, you will meet some great like-minded players, and have a wonderful time.
I think this will be one of the best clarinet events for amateur players that has ever happened. Please find out more details here: https://www.clarinetcelebration.com.
Here is what I am excited about:
NOTE: We will accommodate lots of people from the Clarinet Mentors Community. We have expanded places by having a larger room. We currently have room for only about 25 more people to register for the Amateur adult special session.

I hope to see you in person at this exciting event!
